1496 – Michael
Michael Olaya is CEO of Dexter. He has an interesting view on education and the importance of both learning a wide range of material and being able to think about it and use it. I had some connectivity issues during our interview, but even with that, this was an interesting conversation.
Dexter is a private school based in Texas for passionate learners wanting to develop their best selves. We provide creative, relevant, and real-world learning for the next generations of thinkers, designers, and doers with a focus on STREAM (Science, Technology, Reading and Writing, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics). Our full-time students attend school at our in-person campus in Wichita Falls, TX. https://dexter.school
1497 – Bill
Bill is the CEO of United Space Structures. Their mission is to:
build a large self-sustaining facility that will house hundreds of people and to start construction by 2026. United Space Structures (USS) has developed a unique construction process for building very large permanent structures within lunar lava tubes. The advantage of building within lava tubes is that the lava tube provides protection from radiation and meteor strikes and so the habitat structure does not require to be hardened from these elements. The structures only need to create an atmospheric structurally stable enclosure that is thermally insulated.
1498 – Frank
Frank White has studied and documented the “Overview Effect”. His best-known work, The Overview Effect: Space Exploration and Human Evolution, is considered by many to be a seminal work in the field of space exploration. A film called “Overview,” based largely on his work, has had nearly 8 million plays on Vimeo.

1500 – Tom & Kathy
Tom and Kathy are working on putting together a project to create a better sense of community through a project called CoHousingHouston.
What is CoHousing?
A neighborhood that integrates green design with a social, supportive community life. Neighbors know one another. They have worked with an architect to design their dream environment and to tread lightly on the earth.
Cohousing communities consist of private, fully-equipped dwellings and extensive common amenities including a common house and recreation areas. The common house is the very heart of a cohousing community. It provides a place for community activities such as common dinners, and numerous other organized formal and informal activities.
Residents are involved early in the design and development phases so that the community reflects their priorities. Residents live in a close-knit neighborhood that seeks a healthy blend of privacy and community.
